FAQ

Audition process

To maintain our standard of integrity, we do require an audition to join any of our classes. Our reason for doing so is not to frighten you or put you on the spot, but to help others feel comfortable and welcomed, but to provide a safe, fun environment where creativity can flourish freely.

Our programs and workshops offer real-life examples of story and the tools to help you continue crafting as a group or independently. We hope that you will take this opportunity to network, play, and experiment.

But I'm nervous!
That's totally normal. We recommend that you take a drop-in or workshop course at UCB, Groundlings, Second City, or iO West. If you cannot find a drop-in that works for you, the best artillery to have in your arsenal is to check out our section on improv basics, as well as the index which includes different games and warm-up exercises.

Writer's Block? Forget about it! We will never ask that you come in with anything prepared!

Writing

We do not ask that you are an expert in writing, but we do expect you to come prepared to our courses with a notebook and writing utensil (not a phone or device). Additionally, if you are interested in our writing track, it is important that you read our e-guide and download the recommended software to begin crafting stories for the screen.
